I have owned of of these for almost a year now and quit frankly find it to be an over priced piece of junk! We paid north of $130 from Growlerwerks. If this thing was $79-$89 I wouldn’t be complaining.
– It dose not come with the required tool needed to take it apart. They changed the nut design. One in pic is a hex one they sent is proprietary. Tool is a mere 7 or so dollars on their site. They need to include it.
-I like to know how things work. So I took mine apart when it finally arrived (5-6mounth wait). This thing was full of metal shavings and gunk from the manufacturing process in the brass column that contains the gauge, site glass, neck and tap faucet.
-Growlerwerks says to take Ukeg apart and clean well every 5-10 fills I think. That would require the sold separately tool to do it right.
-The inside has a seem at the bottom which can and will be a place for bacteria to form, live and grow. Will need a proper brush and sanitizer to clean throughly. Most people don’t know to not use bleach on stainless is it will degrade the stainless steel over time.
I don’t have time to give it the full review it deserves but I will finish on this note.
The idea and concept of the Grolwerwerks Ukeg64 are great and get damn near everyones attention when you bring your Homebrew to a party or walk into a pub for a growler fill. YOU WILL MAKE FRIENDS OR BE INTERROGATED BY FRIENDLY PEOPLE.
BUT the execution of that concept and the actual manufacturing of the Ukeg have a lot to be improved on.

Hi Paul, thank you for sharing your experience with the growler. Hopefully it will help out others who may be considering purchasing one and ultimate help the manufactured in building a better product.
